If you could eliminate anything from your daily routine...

What would it be?

I think the one thing I would eliminate if I could, would be to get rid of doing clothes. It isn't necessarily the washing and drying of clothes, but it is the folding and putting away that gets me...

Endless supply of food???

If you had an endless supply of food, what food would you get?

If I had to pick just one... it would be shrimp.

Dream job

What do you want your dream job to be in 10 years?

I would want to do the exact same thing. I love our customers and I hope that my boss keeps the business open for another 10 years so I can enjoy doing what I love.

If you were a flower...

What flower would you be?

I would be an orchid.
Those are my favorite flowers. I love them because they are so different and unique.

What would make your teenage self proud of you now???

Oh this is a good question.

I think my answer would be...
The fact that I am way more confident with myself now than when I was a teenager. I have learned the hard way that it doesn't really matter what people think of you... YOU have to love yourself first and then have the confidence to go through each day knowing, no matter what anyone says... you are awesome and amazing.

How do you deal with stress?

This is a really good question. Especially now, during this time where we never have been before and we are so UNSURE of the UNKNOWN.

We don't know when things will return to normal. We don't know how summer will look or even how the school year in the fall will look.

I think right now, I am dealing with stress, by making sure I am staying connected to all my people by text, phone calls, zoom calls, Facebook calls... all the ways I can to just keep in touch. I lean on my husband when needed. It is hard because I am a very put together person and I don't stress too often. I mean, finances sometimes, but life not really. I have just been very anxious about life lately and I know I am not the only one out there and I think that puts me at ease a little. Everyone is going through this and everyone is dealing with it in their own ways.

Hang in there people. It will get better... we just have to continue to have faith and do what is needed for our families. Everyone's need will be different. I definitely am not upset with people who choose to do things differently than my family. Let's remember to be kind. Love each other and stay faithful!

How do you want to be remembered?

Well... I think the only thing I would like to be remembered for is how much I cared about those that meant the most to me. I loved with all my heart and I did whatever I could for those that needed help. I think that is the most important thing in my life, so that is what I want to be remembered for...

How to be a real and true friend?

I have learned over the years that each and every friend you have, has a family of their own. They have a life of their own and as you get older, your friendship changes. Being a real and true friend is staying in touch. Checking in when it has been a few days. Making sure they are doing okay. And then enjoying dinner together when we can make the time together. Celebrating each and every family member when it's their birthday... enjoying holiday's together when we have no other plans and can make it work.

A real true friend never gives up on their friend. They are honest and tell you things you don't always want to hear. They love unconditionally and they are always there. They will drop anything to help you if needed.

I have definitely found some of the best friends a girl could ever ask for. God has definitely played a part in bringing these people into my life when I needed them. And over the years they have proven how true and real they can be. I hope that I am proving that to them each and every day.

Describe your dream house...

You know what... I always grew up thinking about what I wanted in my dream house. But, you know... the older I get, I have learned to realize that it doesn't matter what the house looks like inside and out. What is important is the family that is inside the house.

We moved into our HOME April 4th. It definitely isn't my dream house, but you know what... it's my husband's dream. He has always wanted this house.

We have been living here for going on 2 months next week and it is perfect for us. I might not like some things, but those things we can update down the road to what we like

We are slowly doing things here and there to get it updated to what we want. It will take time, but I love living here with my family. I love the peace I now have in our home. I love how much safer I feel living here. It's great and I feel extremely blessed.

Are you hosting any upcoming events?

I am not the host of the 6 events, but together with my volunteer team, we are putting on 6 different Gathering training events for our MOPS leaders and moms.

As the Volunteer for our area, we find the churches who will host our event and then we get there the day of the event and we put the event on. Together we have breakouts and are in charge of each breakout and then we help set up and break down the location.

Our goal is to make sure we create a great training for each and every one of our ladies that comes. We have 11 team members and between us we usually go to 2 events each. I will be doing our event in Enumclaw and Gig Harbor with 2-3 of our other coaches. I am so excited to welcome these ladies to our Gathering and I am praying that they get so much out of each and every one of our training.

My job as support is to create each and every event registration and then post it live to our Facebook group. Then I print out the registration sheets and send them to each lady who will print them for each event. And then I log each and every one of the ladies who attends into our MOPS system.

Our year has been a bit different with the Coronavirus. We have done all our events through a Zoom room and it has been different, but great to see all the smiling faces!

Happy Mother's Day

Being a mother is the best thing that has EVER happened to me. Here are a few things about me being a mom...

What's the most difficult part about being a mother?
People tell you all about being a mom. They tell you about how great it is and how tiring it is, but they don't tell you the in between. They don't tell you that some days you will be so frustrated as a mom, that you think you are failing. They don't tell you that it is hard and emotionally draining. But, despite all those it has been one of the best things in my life.
What surprised you most about being a mom?
How quickly someone's moods can change. Like night and day. It is so crazy. And every stage it is a different kind of change.
What (if anything) do you love most about the pre-teen age?
I love that my little mini me and I are so much alike. She loves a lot of the same things I love. We like to do some of the same things. It makes me so happy to be her momma.
What did you love about the elementary school years?
I loved her trying to find herself. I loved the good and bad days. They were each teachable moments for her and myself... And you know what... WE MADE IT THROUGH!
What did you love about the toddler stage?
I loved the cute and funny comments she would make. Some were not okay, but for the most part they all were great!
What did you love about the infant stage?
I loved the cuddling stage. It made me feel loved and needed. I was in charge of a tiny human and watching her learn how to grow each and every day was a special time for me.
Where did you go for information and advice about raising kids?
From my mom, my friends and books.
What did you hate about being pregnant?
The only thing I can remember was the last trimester. I had a bad cold so different things would make me throw up. Other than that, I did not have morning sickness.
What did you love about being pregnant?
Growing a tiny human inside me. What a wonderful, interesting thing a woman can do.
When did you know you wanted to be a mom?
When I was a little girl.
Why do you love being a mom?
Because she is the most important thing in my life. I am raising a young lady who will need me for the rest of her life. I will protect her and help her until the day I die and I hope that when I do die, she will know how special and loved she was.

What do you believe makes a successful life?

I am a firm believer that the success of your life is definitely not counted by the job you have. To be successful, you live your life the best you can. You give your heart and soul to those who are in your life. You volunteer. You spend your days making people laugh. You become the best version of YOU and you share your knowledge with anyone who will listen. Be kind and loving. Never forget who you truly are. Never forget where you come from. Never forget that life is so so hard. But you can make it the best you can...

Happy Birthday Momma

Describe your mom?
My momma. She was a loving momma. She always had a warm meal ready for us. My favorite is her roast, rice and gravy and her spaghetti. She was a stay at home mom and she was always home for us. She has the best hugs and no matter what comes my way, I know that I can call her and just feel like it is all going to be okay.

What do you love most about your mom?
Her beauty.

What is your mom's favorite thing to do?
I believe her favorite things is to watch Law and Order or Criminal Minds.

What's your favorite thing to do with your mom and why?
Just sit and enjoy our time together. We don't get that time too much, so when we are together we run the roads when needed, but then we hang out together and that is the most special time!

Why do you love your mom?
Because she is always there for me no matter what. She always worries about me and my family and she is the best thing. I want my daughter to feel how loved I feel as a daughter.

Day 38

Well... we are still taking it day by day here.

Schooling in person has been cancelled through the rest of this year. Our kids get out at the end of June, so that's so far away... Since, they have cancelled in person schooling, they had to change their schooling format. Before this week, they were just reviewing to keep the kids minds fresh. Now, they have to teach them the things they need to know before the end of the year. This week is the first week for that different type of learning and so far the kiddo says it is going good. She is such a hard little worker. So, we shall see how the rest of this year goes.

Our new normal for now is the kiddo goes to her dad every other week so she doesn't have to be sitting at my work every single day. It helps her out to not be so bored after school work is done, but MAN I miss that kid so much when she is gone. It is so hard with her being away. I am happy for her and them because they get this extra time with her. I just miss her like crazy. She is my little mini me... attitude and all. She might drive me crazy sometimes, but she is my biggest supporter and she loves me with her whole heart!

I don't have anything else to share other than some cool things to check out. Hope you enjoy them...

Nicholas Sparks - The Return - He has a new book coming out September 29, 2020. I am a huge fan of his work. I will definitely get this book when it comes out and will be done reading it that day, or the day after. Check out the synopsis for the new book, here.

If you have any interest in watching some Disney rides, you can go to this website and check out a few of them. I watched a few of them and they are pretty neat.

If anyone out there has seen these, please let me know. They are Tajin Chicken Nuggets. I am a lover of Tajin and it might be weird, but I put this on my pizza and it is addicting. My husband doesn't like it on his pizza, but I sure do. I can't wait to try these.

I love this man. He shares his poem about smiling. Check it out here.

I like this song by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Check it out here

This was pretty hilarious. Never ever Have I played by Ellen, Gwyneth Paltrow, Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany. Check it out here.

My new favorite song is "I Dare You" by Kelly Clarkson. The English version is pretty great, but I just found this Global mix and it is pretty great as well. Check it out here.

If you are a wine drinker, check this site out. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis launched Quaratine Wine for a good cause. All proceeds, yep 100%, goes to charities of their choice. The charities that they have chose are on the website where you can purchase the wine. Check it out here

John Krasinski hosted his newest episode of Some Good News. Check it out here. It includes Prom 2020.

I mean this is too good not to share. It was the day that my kiddo found out there her dad and step mom were going to have a baby. Check it out here.

Check out my aunt who was on America's Funniest Home Videos. Here clip is the last one in this video. Hilarious... check it out here

That is all I have for today. Hope you are all staying healthy and safe out there.

Day 32

The days are flying by, or so they seem to... The kiddo is back there working her little heart out. Some days her work is easy and she flies through it and some days she has hard days. But she is doing her best and that is all that I can ask for. This is such a hard time for all the kiddos.

We have moved into our house and are finally unpacked. We have 1 room left to unpack boxes, but it is mostly my husband's stuff, so we will get to that eventually. We have time before we can show people our house, so he has time to figure out where he wants everything to go.

Here are a few resources for y'all. Things I think you could use for the little kiddos or things that are interesting to watch. Enjoy!

Dolly Parton singing Sweet Music Man by Kenny Rogers. Check it out here.

Disney launched a website full of fun and engaging Disney content, stories and resources all for free. Check out the site here.

Harry Potter fans, you can take classes here. I have not checked it out, but it looks interesting.

One of my favorite remakes of Hallelujah. This is the remake for Easter. I love it and the Christmas one as well. Here is the Easter version.

Why not watch Robin Williams helping Martha Stewart cook. I laughed a lot. He was so hilarious. Watch it here.

Watch Kevin Hart talk about his fear of all animals. This guy is a trip. Watch it here.

Dolly Parton is so funny. She has a poem for us. Check it out here.

That is all I have for you today. Stay safe y'all and do something that makes you smile today.

Day 25

Well... this will be my last post for at least 5 days. I am off tomorrow through Monday. I can't wait to have these next 5 days at home. There is so much for me to do, but I am going to enjoy each day. I will rest on Sunday, which is my birthday (40th) and Easter. And hopefully Monday, the kiddo and I can enjoy a day with just hanging out and bonding. We shall see how much we can get done in the next 3 days.

Until then, here are some things I wanted to share... Enjoy!

If you are interested in making your own mask that is no-sewing, check out how, here.

Take a virtual tour of the tulip fields in Washington. A really beautiful place to visit at least once in your life... Check the tour out here.

I really do love Alicia Keys. She really can create any song and sing it amazingly. Check out her spin on Flo Rida's My House here

Check these out. Hopefully you are staying safe. Take care and will write more next week when I have more time!

Day 24

Well, they called it yesterday. School will not resume the remainder of this year. The kids will continue to do online learning to end out the school year. My kiddo is so sad. She really misses her friends and her teachers.

She is at her dad's this week for Spring Break. So, there is nothing really to share on the schooling side for now.

Last night we went to the plex (our old duplex) to get our big flat screen TV that we have in our living room. With that still in the plex, I was so nervous with us not being there. We were able to load up my car with as much stuff around it so it was safe on the ride to our new home. We unloaded our car and then grabbed dinner and a few things at Walgreen's that we needed. I can't find my band aides and we have cut ourselves during the move. We will find it soon. The husband put up our bedroom TV and got all that connected. I unpacked 5 reusable grocery bags filled with stuff. I organized my shoes that we brought over and then washed some dishes by hand. Yep... old school. The new house does not have a dishwasher. Once day we will add one, but until then... it is old school hand washing. We were done after that. I even fell asleep last night WITHOUT turning on our noise machine. That NEVER happens. This place is so quiet and I feel so much safer in this home than the last. I haven't slept this good in a very long time.

Today's agenda is to go grab our TV stand shelves because they are glass. I will load up what I can and head home to unload boxes. Today is a chill day before the rest of this week's work.

Tomorrow, Abe and I will head to the plex and pack as much as we can into our cars. We are so close to having everything out of the unit. We will move all that still needs to go to our new home, to the garage. Once our cars are packed and the house is empty of our stuff, we will head home to unpack and do what needs to be done there.

Thursday I am off work. I am going to go to the plex and patch the nail holes in the walls, clean the unit, paint the 5 colored walls we have and then pack my car with what still needs to go to our house. By the end of this day, hopefully I will be done painting and cleaning. That way on Saturday we can make runs all day until the garage is finally empty and we can turn in our keys.

Busy busy next few days, but so ready to be done with the plex so we can focus on the new home and getting all the boxes unpacked and things to be where they need to go so we can enjoy it more... Right now, we are enjoying it being ours, we are just really tired! Moving/Packing/Unpacking without help is so exhausting.

But, hey... everyday is a blessing and we are extremely thankful!

Stay safe out there peeps.

Monday, April 6, 2020

Day 23

It was such a long weekend... but, we got so much done and that is what I am thankful for. Do you know what is HORRIBLE? Moving, during a pandemic and a Stay at Home order.

Thursday, we went to the house after we got our keys. We looked around and talked about the different things that we wanted to do, etc.

Friday, I got off work at 12:30 and we headed to the house around 2 and cleaned everything. The girls washed their walls, they mopped their floors, I mopped the floors, vacuumed out all the cabinets and we were ready to move in.

Saturday, we had one awesome friend Geoff come and help Abe with the heavy stuff. We had most of our boxes already in my husband's big work truck he borrowed from work. We made one load with our friend. He helped unload all the heavy stuff and then he had to go home, so we finished the rest of the truck. We made a 2nd load with our old neighbor Moses and then we went back to the house once more for a few things. And then we were done for the night. We finally went to sleep around 11:30 pm. We started our day at 6:30 and we were exhausted!

Sunday, we spent our day unpacking, getting our internet up and running, and then cleaning as we went. It was a long day. We did not do a run from the duplex. Husband had to get a few things there, so he went, but I stayed home. Both kids were gone and it was just the husband and I.

We will spend the next week unpacking and getting things done that we need to do around the house. Small projects mixed with the huge unpacking we have to do. The quarantine stay at home order is now pushed to May 4 so we have a month left before we can have people over (unless they extend that time again...) So, we are going to unpack as we can, but rest when we need to.

And then we have to get the duplex cleaned and ready to turn in our keys. We have to be out of there by the 19th, but I am hoping to finish with that by this coming Saturday. We shall see how my body feels.

My husband and I are just so tired and exhausted, but we have a house of our own and we could not be more thankful!

Stay safe out there!

Day 19

Today, I don't have any resources to share.
All I have today is this...

We bought a house. So, that being said... the last week has been pretty hectic with packing and getting ready for our move tomorrow. I didn't think we would get into the house until the end of the month, so this was quite a rush... but I managed to get about 95% of the house packed and the rest we will do on Sunday when we have a few of the boxes unpacked. I do not want to buy anymore boxes haha.

The kiddo is at home with her older sister and they have been doing their school work and then the rest of the day spent hanging out together and doing the few things I give them each day. Yesterday, their job was to unload the dishwasher, wash whatever clothes they wanted before we moved, and pack up the pantry stuff. Today's job's are to empty the dishwasher, shower because once I get home we will be taking all bathroom stuff to the house and won't be able to shower again until tomorrow night and pack the rest of Abe's side of the bed. It's really easy stuff...

I am getting off around 1 and then we will go to the house and clean the floors, the walls, the tub and then clean the counters so we are all ready to move in.

The girls have their own room and they are big. My husband will have his man cave room. We have our own laundry room... A storage shed in the back... a nice back yard, fenced.
It is perfect for us. We LOVE it and are so ready to be moved in and settled making our home ours...

Here is our picture we took yesterday.
Our first picture at our new home...

Day 18

Today my kiddo is at home with her older sister. They have a list of things they need to do today, so they are at home busy. They have their school work and then a few chores that I have written down for them. Lots to do at our house right now...

I don't have really many resources for today.
The only thing I will remind people of is the Power of Positive Summit that is going on RIGHT now. It started today. You can go to the site here to sign up. They will email you a few speakers each day and last year it was so good. I was so thankful I signed up and will do it each and every year. This year especially everyone could use a little POSITIVITY... So, go sign up and join me!

Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy! Until tomorrow... enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday Dad

This man right here, has been my whole entire world since the day I was born. I have always been a daddy's girl and just because I am almost 40, that does not mean that has changed at all. This man has worked his whole entire life to make sure our family was taken care of and I am so proud of my dad!

He had a birthday yesterday and I hope it was the best birthday ever! I love you dad and I miss you like crazy! Thanks for all the wonderful memories you have given me in my lifetime and the many more that will happen in the years to come!

My favorite memory of my dad is when he would brush my hair each night 100 strokes a night. It was one of my favorite memories. Here is a picture of my dad doing the same to my daughter when we were home for Christmas.

You are the best dad a girl could ever hope to have!

Day 17

17 days seems like not so many days... until you are quarantined and can't leave your house except to go to work (us essential workers) or to go get some groceries or to go outside for a bit.

The kid really does work hard. She spends all day checking her Google Classroom and when the teachers post work she gets busy doing it. She watches shows on her phone and brought some things to keep her busy as well. She is doing so well and I am extremely proud of her.

A few resources...

10 YouTube channels to keep your kids moving at home... click here.

NASA is providing activities to bring the universe into your home. I can't wait to check this out for myself. Check it out here.

Any Harry Potter Fans out there? Here they are introducing Harry Potter at Home. I signed up and played for a little bit. I was placed in Gryffindor, my wand is a cypress wood one with a unicorn hair core, 10 3/4" and slightly yielding flexibility, and my patronus is a siberian cat. It was pretty neat. There is so much to explore as well. With puzzle games, to reading. So neat. If you want to check it out, click here.

My only reason I go to the fair (when I go, I really can't stand going) is to get the funnel cake that they have there. They are so good. I found a recipe for Funnel Cake Bites. And boy, I can't wait to try these. They look delicious! Here is the recipe.

Wide open school is giving family some great school resources for keeping your kids engaged during this time frame. When you go to their website, click We're a family and you will get right in. I checked it out and they have so much. Check it out here

A great song called "You Will Be Found."

That is all I have for today. Stay healthy everyone!

Day 16

If you do not follow Jon Gordon on Facebook, you really should. He posts really positive things and I enjoy reading them... I follow him on Facebook, but I also signed up for his daily positive email and I am loving them!

Today's email said:
Remember, how you choose to see the world determines the world you see.

When you see the GOOD,
look for the GOOD,
expect the GOOD,
you find the GOOD and...
the GOOD finds you.

- Jon Gordon (from The Carpenter book)

If you want to sign up for his daily positive emails, sign up here.

This is a wonderful Facebook filled with a TON of resources. The ones that stood out was the scavenger hunts that they share on this page. They have so many different ones... a letters hunt, backyard hunt, spring hunt, shapes hunt, nature hunt, book hunt, math hunt, 5 senses hunt and much more. But, they have so many different things for you to use during this tough time with the kids home more. Check out the page here.

Dolly Parton is going to start reading some books from the Imagination Library every Thursday night at 7 pm eastern time. Check out the event's link here.

JJ Heller wrote a new song during this hard time we are all living right now and it is so good. Check it out here.

Do you guys remember Supermarket Sweep? I remember watching this growing up all the time. If you miss it or want to reminisce and watch a full episode, check it out here

John Krasinski has created a YouTube channel called SomeGoodNews. It is where he will share good news people sends him and share with everyone. So far, I love it. Check it out here. I love him. I never did watch The Office, but I love watching him in Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime Video. #lookforthegood

The kiddo is busy doing her school work. So, she is keeping busy. She has things to keep her busy once her school work is done for the day. She sure is being great for me.

Well, I hope you are having a great day and remember how blessed we are despite the hard times we are facing. I hope you are enjoying time with your family and loving every minute despite the chaos.

Day 15

Today marks day 15 of no school. It is still so crazy to think about this is our new normal for now. Social distancing ourselves from others to make sure everyone stays healthy and online schooling. I am over here praying that this virus dies sooner than later for everyone's sake. I worry how far behind the kids will get. Not so much my kiddo, because she is constantly doing the school work, but more so for kids who aren't able to get online or kids who struggle in school.

This is the kiddo doing her thing. She spent the last 3 hours doing her school work. Some lessons takes her longer, but today she finished faster than normal. She was even impressed.
And you know... because we still have 29 days before she "might" go back to school, we let her dye her hair red. It turned out so cute. It isn't a permanent dye. It will wash out in the next 3-4 weeks... You know... we are living in a new normal and why not... She will remember this time and how awesome her parents are. There are worse things she could be doing, so I am extremely blessed...

Don't forget that you are capable of handing anything that is throw at you this week. It might be stressful. You might not like the circumstances, but you can do it. You have the strength and power to get through anything.
I found this online and loved it. YES! I am working on letting this be my daily reminder. He is in control and I have to be strong and courageous.

A few things to share with you in case you want to check them out...

Rachel Hollis is doing a Next 90 Day Challenge and it is absolutely free. She says that she knows that we can't control what's happening in the world, but we CAN control how we show up in it. I have done her Last 90 Day challenge before and it was good. Why not check this out, I mean, you can't beat FREE! Check it out here.

One of my favorite songs right now... There was Jesus by Zach Williams featuring Dolly Parton. So good...

Sometimes, listening to what other doctors are saying can ease our anxiety a little... Here is an update from an OB doctor. I enjoyed his video. Check it out here

Day 11

This kid cracks me up. I ask for a picture to go on my blog, and this is what she sends me... I miss her so much!

I don't have much to say, so I will post some resources for some things to look at if you get bored. Work has been quite busy this week, so that is good. Keeps the days going by quickly, which helps. After work, I go home. Will repeat this routine for as long as we need to, to do our part...

Hallelujah by Hauser with a cello... AMAZING!

These military homecomings ALWAYS get me...

Steven Furtick - Don't Watch the Wind... this was SO good...

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton - Islands in the Stream

Day 10

I don't have much to add today. The kiddo hasn't sent me any pictures today of what she is doing. I know she is doing her work and I am so proud of her that she is doing so well. Looks like Auburn really has stepped up with the online learning. Each teacher has assignments for her posted daily and she really is keeping up with it. So thankful!

So, today I will share some of my favorite things I have seen this week. Enjoy!

Patrick Stewart is reading William Shakespeare's sonnets each day. You can enjoy listening those those here. I am excited to listen to a few of those myself. I have read all the works by Shakespeare back when I was younger.

Jennifer Gardner and Amy Adam's created an Instagram account where they get different people to read to our kids. You can check that account out here.

An oldie, but a goodie. We Are the World. Check it out here...

My favorite singer of all time passed away this past week and I found this tribute to him on Facebook. Kenny Rogers was someone I listened to growing up. My momma loved him and I quickly became a fan. Check out the tribute here

This might be my new favorite remix of Shallow with Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks

Stay healthy out there and make sure you are laughing every chance you can. Laughter is good for the soul!

Day 9

During this Stay at Home order... my work is considered essential, so I am at work today. We have locked our doors to customers walking in. If they need to drop off payment, we will let them, but we are wearing gloves and they are staying outside. We are trying to do our best with the social distancing as well. It helps, when my boss is in his office and his desk is definitely over 6 feet away from me. I thought that we might be a little slower with all this going on, but we are staying busy and that is awesome.

The kiddo is still at her dad's. Man, I sure do miss her like crazy when she is gone. Here are a few pictures of how it is going over there with her.

She did a tour of LSU online. She is playing BINGO with her school and this was one square she could cross off. I think it is super cool that her school is staying connected with them through Instagram. I love it.
My beautiful baby girl.
Little J loves the fact that her SISSY is spending extra time over there. This picture is C giving Little J a check up using her Doc McStuffin's kit. I just adore this picture.
After work, I will go home and definitely listen to the Governor and make sure we Stay Home, unless we need to get some groceries. However, I think grocery wise, I am good for at least a few more weeks. I want to try to stay home as much as possible...

Here are a few things I want to share with you today....

Jeremy Camp wrote a new song a few days ago called "Whatever I Face." It has quickly become one of my new favorite songs from him. He just posted a new song today that he wrote yesterday after he woke up. He said he isn't trying to write new hit songs, but writing helps him during times like these and man, the new song is just as good. It is called "My Prayer Song." If you click on the name of the song, I have added a link to find it on Facebook.

My cousin lives in Crowley, LA and she is a personal trainer. She has been posting workouts on their gym Facebook page and I am loving them. I can't wait to try the partner workout with my husband. We shall see if he will do it with me. You can find the partner workout, here. But check them out for other videos as well.

If you are looking for different indoor activities for your kids, check out this website.

If you would like a YouTube channel that has different actors reading books, you can find that here. There are 62 different ones. My favorite actors reading are Betty White and James Earl Jones.

Here is a google document that shares Self-Care Activities during the Pandemic. It has a list of around 84 things on there and then has some additional links to explore the world. Check out that list here.

And just a reminder to always, always #lookforthegood in everything you are doing. We will get through this together! Praying for each and every one of you out there. Take care of each other. Hold your family close. And stay healthy!

Stay at Home Order for Washington

Governor Inslee finally issued a Stay at Home proclamation that will last the next 2 weeks. This is for all non-essential businesses. For the next 2 weeks, people are to stay at home and not go anywhere other than to get groceries, doctor's appointments or things like that. And if they are an essential business, they are to go to work and go home right after with the same rules.

I think this should have been done when the restaurants were shut down for dine in eating. People spent the last week going out and enjoying the sun and NOT social distancing. It has been pretty ridiculous. Seeing people going to Alki Beach or going hiking in popular places where it is clear you can NOT social distance 6 feet from others, has made a lot of people so angry. Myself, included. They just aren't understanding how important staying home is right now. They could be carriers of this virus and not know it because they aren't showing symptoms. Just very frustrating...

That being said... my husband's job and my job are both considered essential. Today, we closed the office to walk in customers/potential customers and we will continue to have it closed to customers for the next 2 weeks or until the Stay at Home has been lifted.

If you are curious as to if your business is considered essential, you can see the full list here.

Whether you are working because you are considered essential, or you are staying at home... stay safe. Stay healthy... and make sure each day you #lookforthegood in all things... Share your joy. Share your happiness. We will get through this together!

Day 8

I have worked at my current job for 19 1/2 years. In those years, we have never closed our office to outside customers. We have closed our office for meetings or appointments, but never due to something like a virus. Today, we have closed our office to all outside customers. We can do most things on the phone or through email. And people can drop payments off through our drop box. But, until this thing is gone, we are making sure we are keeping us and our families safe.

If we go on lock down, I will be bringing my computer, monitors, printer and some files home with me to do what I need to do from home. I will forward the phones to my cell phone and will take messages for my boss to take care of when people want to talk to him. We will make it work. But, the best part about my job is... we will work. We will be here for our customers and continue to do what needs to be done on a daily basis.

Just a Monday reminder for you... Soak that piece of goodness in... #lookforthegood

The kiddo has gone to her dad's for the week. They are working from home, so they are helping out with her during this time away from school. She still has to do her homework, so I told her to send me a picture daily to post on my blog. This is what I got today. I love it. She makes my heart happy. And man, do I miss her already!

Today, Jon Gordon shared a newsletter in my email. The part I liked was:
The truth is, this isn't going to be easy. The truth is, our leaders are going to have to make difficult decisions in the near future to save lives and save the economy. The truth is, we can't control the events in our life, but we can control how we respond. The truth is, we will get through this. We all know a physical virus can be dangerous, but so can an idea virus. Let's respond to the fear, negative thoughts, panic and uncertainly with positive contagious energy. Positive energy is contagious too.

Speaking of Jon Gordon. He has a daily email he sends out about being positive. Here is today's email he sent:

It’s easy to be positive when everything is going great. Real optimism, faith and leadership are revealed in how you respond to adversity.

Today let's:
1. Stay positive.
2. Be thankful.
3. Choose faith over fear.
4. Replace "Have to" with "Get To."
5. Encourage others.
6. Use this time to learn, improve and grow.

-Jon Gordon

Make sure you sign up for some daily positive email's from Jon. He is an amazing human who shares all things positive. I love it!!!

Let's try to spread as much positive energy, happiness, joy and much more during this hard time... let's come out of this stronger and better...

Day 7

We got in some good quality time with the family this weekend. I just love when our kids are home. The laughter we hear from their room is enough to fill my heart completely. During the times we are going through now, it really helps.

This weekend we basically just hung out at home, minus a few trips out. We needed to get a few things at the grocery store. I could not find hardly any meat last weekend, so we took a different approach in finding this. We went to Cash and Carry and we were successful. We got a big bag of chicken wings, a big box of hamburger patties (if we don't eat hamburgers, we can break it up and use it in meals...), a big bag of tater tots, a big can of clam chowder, a big box of shrimp, some ravioli and some syrups for the Italian sodas we enjoy making at home. All and all it was a successful trip. We went to Fred Meyers to get the rest of what we needed and we got most everything. So, now... unless we need milk or bread, we are not going to the store anymore for a while.

Here are a few pictures from our weekend...

Here is our  neighborhood bunny. We have named him Butters. He likes to hang out between my front door and my neighbors front door. I think he is a house pet that got loose because he definitely doesn't mind if you get close to him. I even gave him carrots, but I think he likes other foods... I see him almost every day.

The kids spent all weekend outside playing volleyball. Abe even went out and played with them once. Getting some sun, while exercising... SCORE!

I bought stuff to make taco's for the family for dinner, but the kids were leaving sooner than dinner, so I made taco's for lunch. They sure did love it. And, am I the only weird one that would rather eat the taco's broken apart than together? SO GOOD!
