Happy Halloween

We went to the kiddo's aunts house for Halloween. We had dinner and after diner we went to Trick or Treating in their neighborhood. We did it last year as well and the neighborhood is really great. Such nice people.

Here is my kiddo's little sister on her dad's side. She is so cute.

The kiddo as Winnie the Pooh and Justice as a leopard cat.

My favorite texts...

My favorite texts come from my dad... hands down!

About 8 times out of 10 he says something that just really makes me laugh out loud. The older that man gets, the more hilarious he gets with his words.

He is amazing and I am so blessed to be his daughter!

Out of the Darkness Suicide Walk 2019

I started doing this walk last year with my good friend Amanda after she lost her brother to suicide in 2018. This was our 2nd year doing it and we will do it every single year that we can. This year, I asked my kiddo's if they wanted to do it with us and without hesitation they said yes. I was a little worried that they would be too cold or it would be too long of a walk for them. They were ROCKSTARS. I seriously mean that. They were there to support us and to love us and it was amazing. They told us at the end that they had so much fun and hope they can do it next year. I told them they can do it every single year with us!

Together we are Team MJT. We would love anyone to join us every year. The more the better... We were able to raise just over $1,000 this year for suicide prevention. Next year it will be more. This will be our family fundraiser that we will do every year.

Next year however, we will be making us sweatshirts and/or button's. So many ideas we have running through our heads.

I walk in memory of my cousins Marla Faye and Trena. Marla Faye died from suicide when I was 13. I found out really quickly how suicide can affect one family. And then 6 short years later my 16 year old cousin Trena died from suicide. Her death completely changed me. I really can not explain it... I just know it changed the course of my life from that day forward.

So, we walk remember them, to support other families who have gone through the same thing and we walk to honor them! It isn't a long walk, but man there are hills... And my body HATES hills... but in walking yesterday I told the oldest kiddo that I am okay with the pain, because my pain is not nearly what their pain was when they died.

Their pain ended when they died... but their families pain began when they died.
You are never alone. Reach out to your family/friends and last resort the suicide hotline is always open. The suicide hotline number is 800-273-8255. You can also chat with someone online if you go to suicidepreventionlifeline.org/chat. Please know that there are people out there that will and want to help you!

I took a picture of the cross streets of where we parked. It just so happened we parked on John Street. John is the name of my friends brother.

My blog name..

My blog name is www.peanutsmommyblog.com. I came up with that name because when my kiddo was smaller her dad would call her peanut. So, when I was trying to find a blog that fit who I was, it just worked. I wanted peanutsmommy, but that was taken. It looks like it isn't anymore, so I might try to update it. But I am peanuts mommy. I always will be, no matter how old she gets.

My Childhood Home

My childhood home was amazing. I mean, we only had 1 bathroom for the 5 of us, but the memories we made were incredible. The house had wooden walls in the majority of the house. My bedroom and my brothers bedroom had normal walls and they were each painted different. We had one small bathroom and a bath tub. I didn't know what life was like with a shower until I moved out on my own. HA!

We had a nice size back yard and the best part, my best friend lived right behind my house. We climbed the fence a lot and when we got older, we walked on both sides of my house to get to her house and vice versa. We had huge pine trees all over our yard. Yep, I remember them because we were constantly helping my dad fill trash bags of the needles. That was not so fun, but we lived!

We had a basketball hoop in our driveway and we definitely put that thing through a lot. I remember playing with my brothers and my dad often. Our neighborhood was a good one. We had a lot of friends and we were always outside. I can't remember a time in my life when we would rather stay inside verses being out with our friends. It was a wonderful childhood memory and I loved that house.

It was later destroyed by a hurricane when a tree fell through the middle of it. My parent's no longer lived there, but it was still sad to see it destroyed...

Homecoming 2019

This girl had her first homecoming this past weekend.
Her instagram post said that she had more fun than she thought she would have.

I  met her about 4 months after she turned 6. Now she is 14 and I couldn't imagine life without this beautiful soul in my life. She might drive me crazy from time to time, but I sure do love her!

My Passion

MOPS will forever be my passion. February 2020 will make 9 years that I have been involved with MOPS in some way or another. When I first started I just joined the meeting to have something to do for me as a mother and with my kiddo. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and it is a place you can go when your kid is a kindergartner or younger. A little while later I joined the leadership team and became a table leader... the following year, I became the co-coordinator of the group. I did that for a year before I had to step down for medical reasons.

Just because I stepped down, doesn't mean my journey with MOPS ended. The area volunteer for our state Rebecca, interviewed me to become a coach with MOPS. Shortly after that interview, I interviewed with an amazing woman who worked at MOPS International. And shortly after that, I became a coach.

My journey as a MOPS Volunteer has been incredible. The friendships I have made because of volunteering have been even more incredible. I started as a coach and then became a community coach. I stepped away from that and became a volunteer called Ministry Support. Basically I do a lot of social media things and I create our events when we host them. Being a Ministry Support is my passion. I love it. In addition to just being a Ministry Support for Washington State, I am a moderator for the MOPS coordinators group on Facebook. There are just over 3,000 ladies in the group. All of them are coordinators for their group. I monitor the group with 2 amazing and wonderful MOPS Staff members. I verify ladies at the end of each year and approve ladies and posts on the group. Next week I will begin to start interacting more with the ladies, but teaching them things they might not know.

This journey has been my passion and always will. I tell EVERYONE I know about MOPS. It helped me out at a time where I felt lost as a mother. It showed me that there is so much more to motherhood. I am so thankful for MOPS and everyone I have met along the way. I hope to continue to Volunteer forever. It is truly a blessing.

4 Ways to Win your Heart

The older I get the easier this is to answer...

4 things that will definitely WIN my heart:

1. Creme Brulee - I finally found a place up here that does them pretty close to my favorite place in Long Beach, WA. They are just delightful!

2. Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory

3. Godiva Chocolate - Super sad they are no longer in the Tukwila Mall. Bellevue is so far to go just for chocolate.

4. Sushi
